The collection designed to represent empowerment, to be brave and bold in the clothing you wear. Hype of the

Stripe

Womens Graduate Fashion Week Collection for Tu Clothing

In the colour of this season, our lilac cotton shirt with daring ruffles on the sleeves draws the eye down the stripe in the centre and offers a super feminine and flattering print. With the main slogan of the collection, the slogan t-shirt was influenced by the Women’s marches of 2017; ‘I KNOW WHAT I AM’ giving meaning to empowered women.

About

The Designer

Laura has always had a keen interest in arts and crafts. Throughout her education she has progressed with fashion design through college and university learning new skills and techniques to produce her design pieces. Off the back of the amazing collection Laura showcased at Graduate Fashion Week in 2017, she won a collaboration with Tu to put her collection to life online and in stores. Her collection is inspired by 1960s tailoring and the cool rock and roll styling of The Rolling Stones, with the frills and ruffle detailing giving a softer more feminine touch to the collection. Laura worked by creating ideas in her head and converting them into wearable clothes. She deconstructed vintage tailored jackets and used these while pattern cutting to create the 1960s shape and statement two piece of the collection.
