Baby sleeping bags and sleep sacks, made simple
A baby sleeping bag (sleep sack) replaces loose covers for a calmer bedtime routine. Pick warmth (TOG), then size, then fabric and print to suit your day-to-day.
Warmth first
Choose the warmth level first. TOG is a simple warmth rating:
- Warmer homes or summer: lower TOG such as 0.5 feels lighter
- In-between days: mid options such as 1.5 suit everyday use
- Cooler spells or winter: higher TOG such as 2.5 or 3.5 adds extra warmth
Small tip: if rooms vary, keep one lower and one higher TOG to swap.
Which size should I choose?
Pick by current stage, not room to grow. This helps the neck and arm openings sit as intended.
Common stages include newborn, 0–6, 6–12, 12–18 and 18–36 months
Use the age/height guidance on each product and choose the stage that fits today
What should my baby wear under a sleeping bag?
Breathable sleepwear layers under the bag. Adjust to your home and your baby’s comfort.
Are fleece sleeping bags warmer than standard ones?
Fleece offers a cosy texture, but warmth comes from the TOG rating.
