Comes up short in length

I bought the same dress last summer in ages 7 for my now just 6year old... annoyingly this one is a subtly different colour from last years. It's also barely bigger than the age 7... holding them together it's maybe 1cm longer. She's tall for her age but not the tallest in her class by any means..so can school dresses please be more generous in length? I can't go any older as they're swamping her frame!

Lovely dress, it fits well but is an age size bigger than my daughters usual clothes.

Annoyingly this school dress has no pockets. Would have preferred having pockets without the back ribbon and other useless frills.
